Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zürich, Urban Analytics lab in the Department of Geography. I completed my PhD at the City Futures Research Centre, University of New South Wales, Australia, and previously have a background in mathematics, civil engineering and road construction. My research develops theories of access to opportunities to describe how urban transport systems serve our needs, and how they could be improved. Sustainability requires us to densify; I want my work to ease the transition and make life better in cities.
I am a past committee member of WalkSydney, an advocacy body focused on improving walking in Sydney.
In my spare time I love rockclimbing, bushwalking, cooking and singing. I like to cycle for transport, and more and more often, try to combine all my interests into sustainable transport adventures: train-bike-hike-climb... the dream of breaking motornormativity in outdoor hobbies in Australia. My blog for those trips is Carless Cragging.
I have a one year old son, and I would like him to grow up in a world where we still have snow in Australia (among other things).
